Sandbox detection tool? Yea it’s called your referral log.
I know when one of my sites is in the Google Sandbox when the Google searches go from 5k per day to 0. I guess it might be helpful for when you are buying a really good domain name, but if the name is that good, you can wait out the sandbox.
For the long term, however, I predict that much more sophisticated spam filters and link analysis techniques will emerge to replace the sandbox. The current sloppiness of the filter means that many websites that Google would like to have in their results are being caught improperly, and filtration is on a constant evolution at the search engines.
Of course, professional black hat search engine spammers like us are anticipating these changes and will be even more prepared than the white hats when these changes occur.
By anticipating and planning for potential changes, the search engines are playing catch-up with us, not the other way around.
