It appears I jumped the gun on today’s post. As has been pointed out, the tags:
<!– #BeginEditable “content” –>
and
<!– #EndTemplate –>
are from Dreamweaver templates. It’s true: I have never used Dreamweaver templates.
As Jen Points out, I should have used the wayback machine to confirm when the site was indexed. Furthermore, I have it on (several) good authorities that Jen tries to keep it as clean and white hat as possible.
It appears I did not do enough research on this one before posting.
As such, I:
1. Publicly retract my statement (that she is a Search Engine Spammer)
2. Apologize for the mistake and
3. have donated $100 to her breast cancer run for the cure.

good job
Hey Black Hat,
Just wanted to say I appreciate you being willing to admit when you’re wrong. That takes guts. Not many people are willing to admit when they are wrong. Hopefully this is something we can all learn from. The power of the written/published word should never be underestimated!

Yeah, what NullVariable said. Real men apologize. Good job, you gained my respect.
Even though I may disagree with that you advocate, you’ve just shown that dispite your evil SEO ways you are none the less honorable in many other ways, and a bloody nice thing to do as well. Kudos for the apology.
Wow that’s a really nice honorable gesture that doesn’t occur very often these days. Great respect!
if you make spam by hand, instead of using scrapers or article bots does that make it not spam?
i have not read jen’s womens-finance site very thoroughly though, so maybe it does add value to the web and has unique relevent content.
why do women need their own finance site again?
“why do women need their own finance site again?”
LOL!
Ummm….I think that would be to help us invest that AdSense check we get each month.
The UPS driver’s having a tough time carrying it these days….what about you?
ive decided that about.com is spam and so is howstuffworks.com
i can understand a woman’s health site, or a woman’s sports site, or shit even a woman’s televsion site.
The link I included is to the Press Ethic blog being run by a graduate class at NYU’s journalism program. I included a link to your post as evidence of bloggers being willing to admit and fix their mistakes. Check it out, and feel free to comment.
Thanks.
I have to point out that womens-finance.com still is a blackhat site. Good job, Jensense!
