Mesothelioma – I can’t even pronounce it.
However, after some inspiration, I decided to use mesothelioma as an SEO case study.
Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that can occur many years after prolonged exposure to a asbestos. Attorneys have been very successful suing large asbestos companies for billions (as in 9 zeros) of dollars. As a result, these lawyers are more than happy to shell out $15, $25 or more per click for targeted traffic.
After having donated to a cancer foundation last week, I felt compelled to build the best mesothelioma resource on the web. Ironically, this donation was an olive branch following mistakenly calling someone else a spammer.
With my humble and new-found appreciation of what is clearly not spam, may I present to you:

If you run adsense and extensively quote this post (please link to the above URL), there is a very good chance of a $25 adword running on your site.
This, my art, is both original content and a work in progress. Your critiques and suggestions are welcome.

and the money that is made by adsense at this page goes to charity????
Nice case study…
Very nice. I see you got the memo about using pictures in conjunction with AdSense.
The only problem with this is that very few people search for that term. I tried the same thing about a year ago and got very little traffic. Then again, I know very little about SEO, black hat or otherwise.
yea, took about 9 days to rank top 10 for + lawyer, + lawyers, + lawsuit, etc, etc… no fucking traffic…
[...] Nick at ThreadWatch points to a case study by a “black hat” SEO type on earnings derived from mesothelioma sites. Question is, why would an advertiser pay so much for a search ad? GoodROI points out the following in a comment : “Mesothelioma may be overpopularized and oversaturated but it is still profitable for lawyers. Here is a simplified example. A daily ppc spend of $80k will get around 1400 clicks. Assuming the lawyer can convert at least 1 of these clicks into a viable case, the lawyer will get a high 6 figure or million dollar settlement. Since most lawyers charge a 30% contingency fee, they look to make at least $200k with a $80k ad spend.” [...]
I built a mesothelioma site within the last mo. and have had some clicks, but the rev. share was nothing short of laughable. I’m pretty sure they yield a much better share if you are seathing with traffic. Otherwise you are with all the rest of the mesothelioma sites…….waiting in the weeds for that worm.
Cheers,
Big B
