The world is full of self righteous people. People who just “know” that their way is “better” and that other ways are “bad.” We’ve seen it in Religion for thousands of years. “Don’t believe what I believe? Then I’m better than you.”
Which brings me to today’s topic: Piety 2.0
Religion is out, the Internet is in. So, obviously we need people to tell us what they think is good and evil on the interweb.
From Doug Heils Forums we have the Chief “WhiteHat” SEO. Depending on what his “white hat” looks like, he might just pissed that they can’t still burn crosses on the lawns down there in South Carolina.
Self-righteous people rock. I mean, the world needs more people like this telling everyone who will listen about their opinions on good, evil, morality, and ethics.
I hope that someday an entity self professed to “Do no evil” like Googlezon will emerge as the final arbiter of right and wrong.
Until that day, we can have piety 2.0 practitioners like those at The Church of Heil:
“. . .the double standards, the (non veiled) threats of hacking my servers, threats of physical abuse and most of all frightening my pregnant wife.”
Harassing / frightening phone calls to people’s homes and family? wow.
Is it any wonder why we use pseudonyms in the Adult Space or as SEO Black Hats /Search Engine Spammers?
