Internet Bubble 2.0 Is Officially Here

I love bubbles

About two weeks ago I was thinking how there needs to be a web based trillian . That day I learned about Meebo – so obviously someone else thought it was a good idea too.

Today I read that after only 13 weeks and 250,000 logins, the Meebo team has managed to raise $3.5 million to value the company at $9.0 Million.

HOLY FREAKING CRAP!

13 weeks
0 dollars in revenue
No business model
Only 250,000 logins
No barrier to entry.
And of GAMEY, only Ebay is a possible suitor (no bid war).

How is that worth $9 million?

Now, I’ve raised VC money in the past. I’m a licensed series 7 & 63. This makes no sense at all. The only explanation is that the Internet Bubble 2.0 is officially here.

I’m really not sure if I should be laughing or crying. I guess the only choice is to make my quick millions. Toodles.

  2. There were some very interesting comments made on the original blog post on your link there. People are pointing to some of the big users: people behind proxies at work and soldiers overseas. Both of these user groups can be eliminated relatively rapidly.

Personally, I pay attention to who is making money, I don’t really care who is raising it. If you read paidcontent.org you’ll see there is tons of money going around right now.

Lots of noise going on about 2 other deals in the work along the same line. Yes, the boom is starting again. Only, for some odd reason, I think this one will be slower and smarter. Then again, greed has never respected us learning from our lessons.

Series 7 huh? You and I need to talk sometime.
