An old friend of mine, Carlos, who grew up in Colombia is in Medellin from NY this week, so I rushed over to meet him. I’ll have to hit up Angel Falls some other time.
The ride in through Colombia was incredibly beautiful. Between last year’s trip and this one, I’ve talked to well over 1,000 South American Travelers. Every one of them who’d visited Colombia put in their top 3 destinations (with Buenos Aires and Rio) and most picked it as their favorite. It’s already easy to see why.
Medellin is the “Ciudad de la Eterna Primavera” or City of the Eternal Spring. The weather here is as good or better than the weather in Southern California – It’s perfect all year round. The city is beautifully nestled in a valley between mountains to the north and south.
I’ve only seen a little of the city so far, but I think I’m going to spend a fair amount of time here. I’ll probably rent a place here for the next 3 months and take in the culture of the city and surrounding areas.
Life is Amazing.
