Google has done it - at least for now. They have REALLY cleaned up their act when it comes to pharma SERPs like Viagra and Phentermine.
Google has added a new feature set above the top of the SERPs seen here:

The actual results are beautiful from a user perspective. If they weren’t hand scrubbed (as I suspect they probably were) and this represents an bono-fide improvement in the search algorythm, then major kudos to Google. I can say hands down that today the Google pharma SERPs for Viagra and Phentermine represent the best a user could hope for.
As I’m writing this the SERPs have changed! And that new stuff is no longer at the top of the SERPs when I search in Firefox, only when I search in IE . . . wierd. It’s probably becuase they are testing today.

hm, looks really like hand selected, although they always tell us, that they do everything per algorithm >:)

It’s called Google Coop, and they rolled this out with a pretty big announcement earlier this month. See http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/060510-191214 and http://google.com/coop. In particular, you are seeing the refinements that come from those involved in the health topic, http://google.com/coop/directory?cx=health_devel. They’ve had tagged pages — so yep, you’ve got humans involved, but not to the degree of hand selecting what exactly shows up in the specific results. Instead, it’s to make a vertical collection of documents.

Coincidentally, about 10 minutes before I read your post, I did a Google search for “Zithromax”, a powerful antibiotic. The “new stuff” is currently showing up for me in Firefox.
