It's a shame, really. I've been using yahoo answers to drive traffic to my site (yahoo answers has nofollow links)

I hope ms live search has some kind of "me too!" answers product!

It's interesting timing, in light of the fact that Yahoo has started to integrate their answers product in their SERPs. I think Google conceded. Perhaps this is not an area they need. They're focused on expanding their advertising empire and assimilating YouTube.

LOL perhaps the most interesting questions one might pose to google they weren't answering anyway, but i always really like seeing their developments come and go over time. it's when a company isn't demonstrating ongoing experiments that it's a problem.

Also with the strong emergence of wikipedia over the last year or so, especially its prominence in Google's SERPS (for 'information request' type searches), they might not think they can (or want to) compete with such a resource.

Maybe that just thought it was stupid and no one would use it. Like if you have a question, why not just go to the google tool bar and type it in?

What are your thoughts Quads - Google conceding defeat to Yahoo? Bigger, better things to work on or just got bored with it?
