$20,000 in 1 Week From 1 Viral Video

This video of a busty young hottie Lip Sinking “”I Got a Crush…On Obama”
caught hold not only on political blogs but even received mentioned on Cable news outlets.

The girls are profiting by selling obama shirts – and judging from the number of views they’ve had, they’ve probably made more than $20,000 in under a week.

Selling T-shirts or other merchandise related to a video is a great way to take advantage of a viral video or an Internet Fad. In a conversation I had with shoemoney, he told me that one of his posts, aqua teen hunger force, sold more than $26k in T-shirt sales and made a good chunk in affiliate revenue.

The political season is heating up and with it the opportunity to generate fan fare, clever Internet fads, eyeballs, and dollars. Hundreds of millions of dollars will be spent on campaigns, propaganda and political advertising over the next 17 months. Why should politicians be the only ones to line their pockets with campaign dollars?

  1. [...] [...]

  2. [...] * Whitehat from a blackhat. QuadsZilla points out how some hot chicks can make money with some viral video. Or with their boobs. Either way, the political arena is fodder for those good at creating viral content. And just so I can link to some almost porn, here is her personal page. [...]

  3. [...] Every so often a new video hits youtube that gets well over 1 million views and catches on virally. I found one of the most recent viral videos to be hilarious and a great marketing tactic to sell Obama t-shirts. According to the source (seo blackhat) it has sold over $20,000 in t-shirts in one week. The video has been viewed 1.7 million times on youtube and mentioned on a several large cable networks. [...]

  4. Of course, I wish to line my pockets after all with my Barack Obama fansite… =o)

The only question is, what monetization strategies can you accomplish other than merchandising? CPM perhaps, buy-outs by the stars/politicians, etc.??

  5. [...] Thanks to those who inspired my finally getting around to this (July 4th falling oddly mid-week this year, and also the way boobs inspire boobery all helped too). Also, props + apologies to featured celebrity bloggers whose only crime was having names that happened to fit well for “casting” (I may be an old fart but I’m no little shit and made this outta nuttin’ but wuv)… [...]
