Have you seen that new Wikipedia-Killer launched by Google? After how Gmail Killed Hotmail, Orkut killed Myspace, Google Base Killed Ebay, and Google Answers killed . . .umm . . . . itself, I’m sure Jimmy Wales is just crappin’ his paints at the awesome killpower of Google in new markets. Didn’t Google Checkout kill someone too?
And what’s up with that name, “Knol”? Google gets the first round draft choices around the world for employees in marketing, technology, and branding and the best they can come up with is Knol? How embarrassing.
Just call it the fucking “G-pedia” and send me a royalty check. Knol? Come on . . . I mean really guys.
The main thing most of us are worried about is “how the hell do we spam this thing?” But we won’t know ‘till it’s rolled out exactly how to exploit this bad boy. Follow vs nofollow outbound links, creating fake “experts”, where Knol will rank and how much you can make with it are all still up in the air.
In the meantime, all I can do is hope that they anoint me the Knol expert on Pills, Porn and Poker. Hopefully GoogleClause has something like that in mind for my Christmas stocking. Honestly, who’s more qualified than I am To get the nod on that evil trio?

Don’t forget how Google Checkout killed PayPal…
Actually, Google Checkout could be a major threat to PayPal if it didn’t suck so much. As someone who uses it, it really isn’t very vendor friendly. Of the three payment processors I offer, it’s easily the most popular among customers.
But, when they start charging for transactions, I know a lot of people who will be dropping it. Of all their mini side ventures, it’s the one clear path they have for a sizable revenue stream, and they’re totally dropping the ball on it.
