New Rule #2 for 2010 Onward: No More using the Phrase XXXX-Killer

It’s so fucking tired. People with their posts like “Is iSlate the Real Kindle Killer?”, “Is Facebook Status the Twitter Killer?” “Is Wibblewit the next Farfugnugen Killer?”

Who fucking gives a shit?

There’s only one way anyone’s gonna know if product X or strategy Y is the Z-Killer; and that’s 10 years from now looking back at Z. No one cares if you called it a little early.

And it’s not like even one of these damn predictions have come true yet: out of the 120931204820 that have been posted over the last 5 years.

Enough already!

Who’s with me?

Well, there are exceptions to that Z thing, like the Z-killer, as in Zebra-killer. Take a look at this picture if you want proof, that the lion is indeed a zebra-killer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lions_and_a_Zebra_b.jpg

LoL Im new here, your first two posts I have seen are rants about the world…or the net at least. Google/Twitter and now this. But it seems I may have a new home as I agree with both, who gives a shit!

Is this post a xxxxx-killer killer?

It’s just hype and marketing. Reporters help their buddies in business.

  5. That’s pretty hilarious…but its very true. I keep seeing people jump at any chance they get and go on their blogs and match products up with these titles. Chuck has good point, it is just hype and marketing. I guess they could be just a tad more creative.
