Dammit Gmail!

How many times do I have to mark a sender “not spam” before EVERY message with a .exe extension in it gets sent to the spam folder with:

“Warning: This message may not be from whom it claims to be. Beware of following any links in it or of providing the sender with any personal information. Learn more.”

I’m tired of telling my partners and developers that I never got their email when I’ve already marked the sender as safe multiple times.

Both comments and pings are currently closed.

Add a filter for the email addresses of people who get sent to your spam folder, and check off “never send it to spam”.

You can actually create a filter in Gmail – basically put in their email address and then say “never send to spam”. I use that on my 2500+ Gmail accounts for all sorts of fun stuff and it works like a charm!

    Hi QuadsZilla,

have you tried to add them to your address book?

    Cheers,

Wouldn’t you feel so much better if you dumped Gmail for good?

  5. Andy says:

What would you replace it with Karoshi?

Won’t repeat the advice regarding filters, it’s how I get around this.

You get gmail to accept emails with exe extensions? For both sending and receiving an exe it has to be zipped and then rared or gmail just dumps the attachment! Even renaming an exe to exe1 doesn’t work anymore!

Brain: He is talking about emails that contain a URL to an EXE within them, not an attachment. Google seems to refuse to accept those ones, although I think the “never add to spam” should work fine…
